Gaming revenue in Italy can double by 2012

Changes in gaming legislation that help launch cash poker and casino in Italy could take Europe's largest e-gaming market and double its turnover by 2012.

Consultancy firm TrustPartners has predicted that revenues from new online casinos launching in 2011 will reach estimated revenue of €200 already in 2011 and between €800m - €1bn in 2012.

Poker cash games revenue which accounts approximately 75% of global turnover are also projected to rise in 2011 by almost 120%.

However in spite of growth in poker revenues over that past couple of years TrustPartners is warning that the poker market is starting to show signs of stagnation.
