Mobile Gambling Allowed in Las Vegas Hotel Rooms

The Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) has approved gambling on mobile devices in hotel rooms of casino resorts and hotels within the State of Nevada.

As we reported back in May an amendment to the gambling bill was brought before the NGC asking to include mobile gambling in casino hotel rooms in Nevada.

Back in May there were great concerns that such a move will enable minors to gamble against the law and might put their well-being at risk.

Although now Nevada casino operators received the bill amendment they so wished to receive, they are still a long way from implementing mobile devices in their hotel rooms.

Each casino will need to demonstrate to the chairman of the State Gaming Control Board that they uphold state gambling laws and are taking all possible precautions to ensure that minors would not gain access to underage gambling.

The mobile technology of each casino operator will be evaluated by technology experts from the Gaming Commission and approved on a case-by-case basis.

It remains to be seen which casino operators will be able to get the green-light and when they do what in-house mobile gaming will do to their revenues.

Industry insiders expect that such mobile gambling will increase revenues as players will be able to gamble more often with greater ease.
